Robotic Concert

In 2020, I constructed a robotic band that performed in the Museums Quarter in Vienna. The composition, written by Kilian Hanappi, was a six-minute performance for four acoustic and one electronic instrument.
Using air compressors and servo motors, the instruments were precisely controlled through a combination of MIDI and Arduino technology. This setup transformed the instruments into a dynamic, multi-channel sound sculpture, liberating them from their traditional roles and creating an immersive auditory experience.
The robotic band's performance showcased the possibilities of robotic and electronic integration in music, offering a fresh perspective on how traditional instruments can be reimagined in contemporary art.
